On Saturday, November 4th, five members of the AHS Bearcat Band had the amazing opportunity to spend the day at UNC Chapel Hill as they were chosen to perform in the Marching Tar Heels Honor Band.  Members who earn a place in honor band are dedicated, hard working, and usually hold places of leadership within their high school band programs.  Band members were seniors Bethany Smith (tuba / brass captain), River Pearson (baritone saxophone / woodwind captain), Isaac Clarke (tenor drums / drum captain), and Wendy Vazquez (drum major / clarinet), and junior Jessica Laney (saxophone / section leader). 

Students were accompanied by band staff Mr. and Mrs. Jarrett, family, and band alumni who enjoyed their performances throughout the day, culminating in a special halftime show during the UNC vs. Campbell football game.
