**EFFECTIVE IMMEDIATELY**
 
The Board of Education voted to approve adding the color navy for pants, shorts, skirts, jumpers, dresses, skorts as an option for students in addition to Khaki (tan): 
 
PANTS, SHORTS, SKIRTS, JUMPERS, DRESSES, SKORTS
 
1. All bottom garments must be Khaki (tan) or navy in color. No other colors may be visible. (Ex. Pockets, buttons, and zippers)
 
      This decision changes the color of bottom garments to include both tan or navy color Khaki material not denim or jeans). We expect all students to be dressed according to these expectations.

Intel Master Teachers
Ten Anson County Teachers were awarded the Intel Essentials Master Teacher certificate along with other teachers from NC. The Workshop, sponsored through a grant from NC Intel, was hosted at Anson High School June 14-19. Teachers underwent comprehensive training to become Master teachers and each will in turn train 10 other teachers in their schools. Anson High School will receive a free SmartBoard for hosting the work shop.  Helen Rape, the Anson County Intel LEA representative set up the workshop and will assist Master Teachers in distributing materials for their participant training. Using these 21st century skills with the Essentials Course curriculum, teachers will develop a project-based unit of instruction aligned to standards with multiple forms of student assessment (formative and summative). Hello Class of 2014!! Welcome to Anson High School!

Thank you for choosing to be a student at our school. We are focused and dedicated to your success in high school and beyond, and we hope that you will become as focused and dedicated to your future as we are.  
 
As a Freshman, you are now a part of a randomly-assigned Small Learning Community where your teachers will know you, care about you, and help you build your skills for success. In your SLC Team, you will not only pursue your Redesign, AVID, or Scholars program of studies. In addition, you will have the opportunity to participate in collaborative learning activities that explore real world issues based on common topics planned by your teachers. These multi curricular learning experiences will be very exciting and could be in a variety of formats including face-to-face and virtual experiences, such as blogs, podcasts, web site design or movie production just to name a few! What an exciting time to be a Freshman at Anson High School!

Your teacher teams and I are looking forward to getting to know each and every one of you. We are very enthusiastic about the opportunities that you are bringing to our campus. Let’s have a great year together at Anson High!
